I have now made this chili cheese bread recipe several times. I like the looks of the cheese strips in the bread. Have tried several different beers and frankly can't tell the difference. Good Recipe.

1 Package Dry Yeast
1 Cup Warm Water
1 Large Egg, Beaten
2 Tablespoons Butter, Or Margarine
4 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Clove Garlic, Minced
3 Fresh Jalapeno Peppers, Chopped
1 Cup Fresh Shredded Pepper Jack Cheese
4 Ounces Pimiento's, Chopped
1/3 Cup Onion, Chopped
Directions for Chili Cheese Bread Recipe
- In a large bowl of water, dissolve the yeast
- Let it stand for six minutes
- Combine the dissolved yeast with the beaten egg and butter
- In a seperate bowl, mix together the flour, sugar salt, and garlic salt
- Add the flour mixture into the yeast mixture
- Mix well until smooth
- Add in the peppers, shredded cheese, pimiento's, onions, and remaining flour to form a dough consistency
- Place the dough into a bread pan
- Cover and allow it to rise for about 30 min
- Place in a 375 oven and bake for 50 min
Chili Cheese Bread Recipe
1 cup chopped green chile pepper
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
3 cups self-rising flour
3 tablespoons white sugar
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
- Turn oven on to 350 degrees
- In a blender, mix together the green chiles and cheese
- In a loger bowl, mix together the chile mixture, flour, sugar, and beer until you get a doughy consistency
- Add dough into a bread pan and bake for 60 minutes
