We had leftover chili, and my husband loves this chili cheese fries recipe.The cheese sauce is delicious and went very well with the chili. Will be making this again for sure.

Ingredients
1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
1/2 Pound Ground Beef
1-2 Package Southwester Style Fries or Steak Wedges
1 Cup Chopped Onions
1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1 Teaspoon Ground Cumin
1 Can vegetarian Chili Or 1 1/2 Cups Homemade Chili
1/3 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/3 Cup Shredded Pepper Jack Cheese
1/3 Cup Shredded American Cheese Cream
Directions for Chili Cheese Fries
- Turn oven on to 400 degrees
- Bake the french fries for 20 minutes
- In a pan, cook the ground beef until browned
- Add in the onions and spices
- In a different pan, melt the cheese and cream
- In a pot, add the chili and cook until hot
- Mix everything together and enjoy
Chili Cheese Fries Recipe
1 (32 ounce) package frozen seasoned french fries
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
2 cups low-fat milk
1 tablespoon margarine
8 slices American cheese, cut into pieces
1 (15 ounce) can chili without beans
- Make french fries as instructed on package
- Mix the corn starch and water until starch dissolves
- In apan, mix the milk and margarine and bring to boil
- Reduce heat and add in cornstarch mixture
- Stir until the mixture becomes thick
- Add in the cheese
- Make chili as instructed by can
- Pour the cooked chili and cheese sauce over french fries
