First of all, 'OMG AWESOME' Habanero Chili Recipe! I followed all of the ingredients exactly, but added a tbsp of garlic salt near the end. I will be making this recipe from now on whenever I make chili.

3 Tablespoons Canola Oil
1 Pound Lean Round Steak, Cut Into Strips
1 Small Onion, Chopped
1 Bell Pepper, Chopped
3 Cloves Garlic, Minced
1 Can Light Red Kidney Beans
2 Cups Fresh Chopped Tomatoes
1 Can Tomato Sauce
1 Can Beef Stock
1 Can Black Peas
3-4 Habanero Pepper, Chopped
2 Tablespoons Fresh Sprig Cilantro, Chopped
1 Tablespoon Fresh Basil, Chopped
1 Tablespoon Dark Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 Bay Leaf, Crushed
1 Cup Whole Corn Kernels
Salt And Pepper To Taste
Tortillas [Optional]
Sour Cream [Optional]
Shredded Cheese [Optional]
Directions for Habanero Chili Recipe
- In a pan, cook the round steak until tender and brown
- Add in onions, bell peppers, and garlic, and cook until tender
- Mix in the beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef stock, peas, habaneros, cilantro, basil, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, and bay leaves
- Bring to a boil
- Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour
Habanero Chili Recipe
1/2 pound bacon
1 pound ground round
1 pound ground pork
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 yellow onion, diced
6 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
6 habanero peppers, seeded and chopped
8 Anaheim peppers, seeded and diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 tablespoons ground cumin
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
3 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 (16 ounce) cans whole peeled tomatoes, drained
2 (16 ounce) cans chili beans, drained
1 (12 fluid ounce) can beer
3 ounces tomato paste
1 ounce chile paste
2 cups water
- In a pan, cook the bacon until crisp
- Remove bacon and add in ground beef until browned
- Add in bell peppers, onions, jalapeno peppers, habanero peppers, anaheim peppers, garlic, cumin, red pepper, chili powder, bouillon, tomatoes, beer, tomato paste, chili past, and water
- Bring to a boil
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 1 hour
